Summary

Whether it's improving your mood, setting boundaries with others, adjusting to a new phase of life, or quitting or cutting back on your substance use, you are in the driver's seat. I'm happy to just be the navigator. Many people enter therapy because they feel helpless, stuck, or out of control. Join me and we'll work together to discover your choices and help you to feel empowered to take the next step, whatever it may be. My interpersonal style is transparent, warm and relaxed, with a bit of humor sprinkled throughout.

Our thoughts and feelings can lead us to engage in behaviors we aren't proud of. In my office, you'll find an understanding and nonjudgmental person who empathizes with your slips, celebrates your successes, and believes that your "flaws" are strengths you didn't know you had.

I graduated from Johns Hopkins University in 2010 and have been helping adults with substance abuse and mental health challenges since then.  I use skills from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Brief Solution-Focused Therapy to help clients understand how they got to where they are, define the changes they'd like to make, and identify options to help them reach their goals. I have a particular interest in adults who have difficulty moderating or abstaining from marijuana use - recent moves towards legislation have increased the shame surrounding these particular challenges and presented emotional barriers to those who want or need treatment.

It takes courage to begin this process and I applaud your decision. I invite you to contact me today to see if we would be a good fit. Our practice is easy to find with plenty of parking. Ask me about online counseling (MA residents only) - www.vsee.com
